As you will probably notice I’m a huge Apple fan ( yes I have visited Apple in Cupertino more than once ) and I am totally stuck in Apple’s ecosystem. I use 2 iMacs and one MacBook Pro. One iMac at my office in Stockholm City and one iMac at home. The Macbook Pro is great when I’m on the run. Funny thing is that my iMacs are from 2012 and they work great ( editing in 4K ).

I’m looking to upgrade my computers in 2022 and I have already made my research. I will leave the iMac and go for the MacBook Pro 16-inch with the M1 Pro chip. The computer is a beast and edits heavy video files without even hesitating.

☎️ Phone

Following the statement before of being an Apple fanboy, yeah you guessed it: I use an iPhone. Actually, I use the iPhone 12 Pro Max. It went 3 years before I upgraded from my iPhone X. The iPhone 12 Pro Max is really great and if it wasn’t for me loving gear I could use this phone for almost everything. Replacing the camera I use to shoot my YouTube videos. It´s that good. Actually, I recorded this video for my other channel.

Buy the iPhone 12 Pro Max here or the iPhone 13 Pro Max here.

🎬 YouTube Gear

Oh, man! This is a topic I could go on about for ages. You are never fully equipped. Always searching for the thing that you think you need but you don’t. You actually only really really need your iPhone to use content. But let´s be honest, thats boring. Lets talk YouTube gear!

📷 Camera

The camera I use is the Sony A6300 we bought maybe 5 years ago. This camera has a few years behind it but you get so much camera for the money today. I bought it för 1 500 dollars. As of November 2021 it’s priced 674 dollars on amazon. Its a mirror less camera that is super easy to use and it´s small so you can eassaly put in in your bag.

You Can buy the Sony A6300 it here.

If I would buy a new camera today I would buy the Sony A6600. It´s basically the same camera like the Sony A6300 but the Sony A6600 don’t have the 30 min video record limit. I Usually dont record longer than 20 min but it´s nice to dont have that limitation.

You Can buy the Sony A6600 here.

I use the Elgato master stand L as a camera stand behind my computer. I love this stand because it’s attached to the office table. This makes making videos really easy.

📸 Lens

The lens is what makes the picture look great. Not the camera (ok not 100% true but 80% true). I use the Sigma 16 mm f1,4 for Sony E-cameras because it´s wide enough to capture me when the camera is behind the computer and the aperture is great ( f 1,4 ) which makes it good in low light. And you get that blurry background which you really don’t need to focus on at all ( content is king ).

Everybody talks about the camera when the lens is equally as important.

You can buy the Sigma lens here.

🎙️ Microphone

This is the microphone I used to record Sweden’s most listened-to Audiobook. I Stull use this USB microphone for all my Youtube videos. If you make the research you will probably notice that a lot of YouTubers use this Microphone. The Blue Yeti Pro has the advantage of being a USB AND XLR Microphone. This makes the Blue Yeto pro-future-proof. You can get this Microphone cheaper if you don’t want the XLR-version.

Buy the Blue Yeto Pro here.

Buy the Blue Yeti without XLR here.

The microphone stand I use is from Elgato. I love this one because it´s low profile which means it does not take up much space in videos. The materials are heavy and solid which i like because it gives a feeling of quality.

💡 Studio Lights

I use the studio lights from GVM. For the price, you get a solid 3-point system for every angle for your videos. I like the lights because you can change the color of the lights and they fit in a bag that’s included in the package. That way you can easily take the lights with you.

You can buy the lights here.
